These memberships aim to provide health and fitness access to those who may have previously been unable to benefit from leisure facilities. These memberships are perfect for those hit by the cost of living crisis, but these reduced memberships do have restrictions. These members can use our facilities or book classes between 9am and 5pm Monday to Wednesday, but will have full membership provisions Thursday to Sunday during our standard opening hours. Our Membership Team need to verify proof of eligibility for these memberships so please contact us for further details. Healthwise Physical Activity Referral Scheme at the Sports Centre, Basingstoke.
The scheme is accessed through referral by a Doctor, Nurse or Social Prescriber in the Basingstoke area at Basingstoke Sports Centre. Common reasons for referral:

This comprehensive 12-week programme features one-to-one assessments, individually tailored activity plans, and teaches how to change behaviours for lasting impact." Basingstoke and Alton Cardiac Rehab Exercise has proven benefits for individuals who have some or any of the recognised risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease. They also have exercise rehab for Long-COVID Reconditioning and staff trained in Cancer Pre-hab (pre-operative) and Cancer Rehabilitation and can assist pre-operative orthopaedic patients.

Regardless of your physical or cognitive ability, age or confidence level, PEDALL will help you enjoy and explore the natural beauty of the New Forest by cycle.There guided sessions are for people who face a barrier to cycling or accessing the National Park and would benefit from the mental and physical rewards of cycling. They have a selection of bikes available to suit all abilities, including Side by Side Tandem and Wheelchair bikes. All bikes are electric assist. |
You can book on to Open Sessions at Ashurst or Burley throughout the year. The price is £5 per person.
Please note that you will be required to complete an introduction session before booking an Open Session, to get to know your bike. This is offered free of charge. |
